Springfield – With the Illinois House convening committees this week, State Representative Dan Caulkins (R-Decatur) announced that he has been appointed to serve on several key committees. Representative Caulkins is serving as a member of the following House committees: Public Utilities; Energy & Environment; Appropriations – General Services; and Prescription Drug Affordability.
“With the Clinton Power Station located in my district, I’m pleased to be serving on Public Utilities and Energy & Environment,” Rep. Caulkins said. “Protecting the 700 good-paying jobs at the Clinton nuclear plant and preserving our energy independence are important priorities for me. As a member of these committees, I will be able to advocate for affordable, reliable energy sources for Central Illinois families.”
The House Appropriations – General Services Committee reviews and makes recommendations regarding the budgets for many State agencies and executive branch constitutional officers.
“As State Representative, I will work to cut wasteful spending, fund our shared priorities and support truly balanced budgets,” Caulkins said. “I look forward to carefully examining the budget requests from the Governor’s Office and other constitutional offices with a focus on improving efficiencies and cost savings for Illinois taxpayers.”
